From bread and pies to pastries and cakes, baking has a long history that has satisfied the hunger of countless people throughout the centuries. The most important part of the quintessential bakery was, and always has been, the oven, where early wifts of steaming bread rolls can be smelt as you walk up to the bakery door.  The small artisanal traditional bakeries of yesteryear, remembered fondly too for the hand crafted sweet and savoury treats, masterful works of art from which many childhood memories were made.
